Depart your hotel in Kigali and transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park in the southern province of Rwanda. This park is blessed with the beautiful scenery, abundant bird-life as well as the primates, including man’s closest relative, the Chimpanzees. Stops en-route to visit the ancient King’s Palace in Nyanza and the national museum in Butare, have lunch then proceed to Nyungwe forest. After an early breakfast at 5 am embark on a drive to Cyamudongo segmented park for a hike into Nyungwe Forest for nature walk in search for Chimps. The flora in Nyungwe comes as an added bonus. You will spend one hour in their presence where you will observe, photograph and film their idyllic habitat. After lunch, drive to Uwinka for canopy walk way experience. Canopy walk offers clear view of plants, primates, birds, and butterflies at a close range. After your leisurely breakfast you will embark on your drive to Volcanoes National Park. Lunch enroute at Moriah Hill Resort. After an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the Park headquarters with your packed lunch for clearance, Briefing and allocation to different gorilla families to visit. After briefing you will be led by experienced ranger guides on the hike to visit one of the 12 habituated mountain gorillas in the park. You will spend an hour in their presence when you can observe, photograph and film them in their idyllic Habitat. You will return to the lodge. You can engage in other optional activities such as visit to Ellen DeGeneres Campus or Gorilla Guardians Community. After an early breakfast, you will be driven to Volcanoes National Park Headquarters in Kinigi for the Golden Monkey tracking experience. After a briefing by park rangers, you will drive for 15min to the starting point. You connect to the trailhead and traverse the jungle in search of the unique and rare golden monkeys. It is an amazing opportunity to spend one hour with them as they play, jump from tree to tree, munch on fruit, and perform other behaviors in their natural habitat and also photograph or film them. Drive to Kigali and then you will be transferred to the airport to catch your international flight to your next destination.
